Our Story
Train Unique was founded in Lafayette, Louisiana with a clear purpose: to create a fitness space where individuals with unique physical, intellectual, and neurodiverse needs are fully supported. We saw how often people were excluded from traditional gyms, and we wanted to build something better.
Our journey began in 2014 when founder Damon Vincent started coaching the DREAMS Fitness class after overcoming his own medical challenges. What began with just six athletes has grown into Louisiana’s first dedicated fitness center for unique individuals, now serving more than 150 athletes from across multiple states. From DREAMS Fitness to Unique Fitness and now Train Unique, our focus has always been helping members move with confidence, strength, and purpose.
Today, our impact extends beyond training through community events, social opportunities, and the Adaptive Fitness Coalition, which supports gyms nationwide. Train Unique is more than a gym. It is a community where people feel supported, valued, and capable of more than they imagined.
Our Team
Our coaches combine expertise with patience and care. We take time to understand how you move, what motivates you, and what you want from training. Sessions are adapted to your needs, and progress is measured in ways that are meaningful to you. You will be guided, encouraged, and celebrated at every step.
